POSITION SUMMARY:
The Finance Manager serves as a trusted finance business partner to assigned practice groups and administrative departments. This role owns the end‑to‑end financial planning, analysis, and performance management for their portfolio, supporting firm leadership with data‑driven insights that enhance profitability, inform strategic decision‑making, and drive operational effectiveness.
The Finance Manager works closely with practice group leaders, finance leadership, and administrative leaders to translate financial results into actionable recommendations, promote financial discipline, and align resources with firm and department objectives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Practice Group Partnership: Act as a primary financial advisor to practice group leaders and administrative department heads. Own financial performance management for assigned practice groups and administrative departments, providing insights into risks & opportunities, performance analysis, and decision support to practice group leaders.
Planning & Forecasting: Lead the development and management of practice group and administrative department planning and forecasting for assigned portfolio. Ensure alignment with organizational goals and financial targets.
Performance Monitoring: Produce executive-level reporting presentations that surface actionable risks and opportunities. Monitor and analyze profitability to identify key drivers to improve performance. Analyze attorney and staff productivity trends, utilization, and leverage to identify opportunities for improvement.
Decision Support: Support the Finance Business Partner by preparing analyses and building business cases for staffing needs, lateral acquisitions, rate negotiations, and operational enhancements within the practice groups. Advise practice‑group leadership on key decisions & actions using deep‑dive analysis.
Financial Model Development: Maintain and enhance existing standardized Power BI productivity and profitability models and develop new analytical models to support execution of practice group strategy and decision‑making.
Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvements and efficiencies within the finance function. Implement best practices and leverage technology to enhance financial reporting and analysis.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with legal operations, finance, practice group leadership, and executive departments to ensure financial alignment and support for key projects and initiatives.
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies. Identify and mitigate financial risks to safeguard the company's assets and reputation
Qualifications:
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES & EXPERIENCE:
The salary range for this position is $100,000- $135,000. Actual pay may be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also offers bonuses, and a full benefits package. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive finance experience with demonstrated business‑partnering skills, such as supporting business leaders, delivering insights, or managing reporting and modeling.
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior executives and cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting tools (Oracle EPM, OneStream, PowerBI, Tableau, Excel).
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES & EXPERIENCE:
- Regularly required to clearly communicate and exchange information in English
- Strong organization and time management skills
