Schill Grounds Management was established in 1993 as a full-service commercial landscaping firm.

Schill Grounds Management provides award-winning professional Landscape Maintenance, Landscape Installation, and Snow & Ice Management services to commercial, industrial, retail, medical, apartment and condominium associations throughout Northeast Ohio. 

The HR Generalist will support the HR Director, assisting with planning and administering functions such as onboarding and offboarding, training and development, and compensation and benefits.

Essential Functions
  • Assist in executing personnel procedures and policies, providing guidance and interpretation for business operations
  • Participate in development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics and reporting for ongoing company requirements
  • Assist in administering benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs
  • Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and organization as a whole, and to improve employee experience
  • Under the direction of the HR Director, ensure legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws at the branch level
  • Act as the primary back up for tasks such as onboarding, new hire orientation, exit interview, and uniform managements
  • Assist with the recruiting processes as needed
  • Provide HR advisory services to employees in relation to FMLA, benefits questions, and other employee-relations matters
  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, policies, and other organizational updates
  • Participate in special projects and help facilitate employee engagement activities

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a related field
  • 5 years’ minimum experience in the HR field with exposure to benefits, recruiting, compliance, and employee relations
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness
  • Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems, and comfortable learning new systems as needed
