Our client is looking for a Partner that will be ablet to lead a team of associates and legal staff to maintain a high level of service for their clients. Successful applicants will have exceptional writing, research, and litigation skills. This position is full-time. The local and corporate staff of this 200 plus atty law firm will be able to provide professional support to make sure the Partner can focus on client and attorney development. We maintain a professional yet laid-back work environment.  A candidate must be a team player willing to assist other team members when necessary. 

Primary duties include:
  • File review and legal analysis of claims and causes of action
  • Extensive legal research and drafting of substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs
  • Regularly representing clients in court, at arbitrations and in depositions
  • Drafting and responding to discovery requests
  • Expert witness retention and collaboration
  • Trial preparation and attendance
  • Some travel may be required 
Requirements
  • 5 plus years of civil litigation experience with an emphasis in insurance defense  
  • Familiar with handling civil cases from beginning to end, 
  • Experience taking and defending depositions to include 30(b)(6) and experts, drafting and arguing substantive motions, attending hearings and trials
  • Experience participating in negotiations and mediations
  • J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school
  • Admitted to practice in the state, other states a plus but not required
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid research abilities and written and oral communication skills
  • Strong work ethic, ability to self-manage and work in a team environment
  • Must respond promptly to e-mail and phone inquiries
  • Excellent client skills and telephone manner
