About this Position:
Green Powered Technology (GPTech) is preparing a response to a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) opportunity focused on improving the efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and delivery of healthcare facility design and construction nationwide. The Electrical Engineer will support review and oversight of electrical systems, including normal power, emergency power, lighting, and low-voltage systems for healthcare facilities.

GPTech is seeking a highly qualified Electrical Engineer to support this proposal and potential follow-on work. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical advisory support on electrical systems to PM/CM and VA stakeholders
  • Review electrical design documents and specifications for compliance with NEC, NFPA, and healthcare requirements
  • Evaluate normal and emergency power systems, including redundancy, reliability, and resiliency
  • Identify and document design deficiencies, coordination issues, and system risks
  • Review submittals, RFIs, and contractor proposals, providing technical recommendations
  • Assess electrical systems for constructability, phasing, and operational impacts
  • Support commissioning and testing activities, including review of results and documentation
  • Provide input on system integration with other building systems (MEP coordination)
  • Support field inspections and troubleshooting of electrical installations, as needed
  • Provide on-demand subject matter expertise (“reach-back support”) for complex electrical issues

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • 12+ years of electrical engineering experience
  • Experience with design review and/or construction-phase support
  • Demonstrated experience with:
    • Power distribution systems
    • Emergency power (generators, ATS, UPS)
    • Lighting and low-voltage systems
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • NEC, NFPA, and healthcare electrical requirements
  • Experience reviewing submittals, RFIs, and electrical system installations
  • Experience integrating complex power requirements in hospital infrastructure

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with VA healthcare facilities or mission-critical infrastructure
  • Experience with backup power systems and resiliency planning
  • Experience supporting commissioning and system testing
  • Experience in construction oversight or QA/QC roles
  • Familiarity with VA, DoD, or USACE standards and design guides
  • Experience supporting claims analysis or technical dispute resolution
  • Prior experience providing remote SME (“reach-back”) support
  • Active or prior U.S. security clearance
  • International project experience (e.g., USAID, MDBs)
