About the Position:
GPTech is looking for an Office Assistant to support to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Bangladesh (USAID/Bangladesh) Feed the Future (FtF) Quality Assurance Support Activity. The ideal candidate will have excellent administrative and communication skills and be able to work independently. The position is for an initial fixed-term contract of one year. The selected individual will undergo a three-month probationary period, after which continued employment will be subject to performance and the continued availability of funds. GPTech will provide a nationally competitive salary and benefits that include comprehensive health and life insurance, paid vacation, and a range of other benefits as required by Bangladesh law. This position is located in GPTech’s Dhaka office in Bangladesh.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure daily office opening and closing.
  • Take care of office premises, keeping the office clean and tidy, and decorate plants as and when required.
  • Use and maintain office equipment.
  • Ensure the proper operation of kitchen equipment, including cleaning the refrigerator, oven, and air conditioner.
  • Deliver messages, letters, documents, and other materials internally and externally. Could involve lifting packages up to 5 to 10 kilograms.
  • Ensure photocopy support per requirement and maintain photocopy equipment.
  • Provide support to trainings, meetings, and workshops arranged by office/project.
  • Purchase and ensure that meeting snacks, food, tea, coffee, and drinking water are available, per requirement.
  • Provide timely supply of tea/coffee to the staff/meeting/visitor.
  • Ensure tea, coffee, and other supplies are stored/availability in the office.
  • Assist in loading and unloading materials as and when required.
  • Work as messenger to bank, courier service, and other offices as and when required.
  • Provide support to the Administrative Officer and Finance Manager in tracking project materials purchased and goods received and maintaining the stock register and materials issue/received.
  • Assist in procuring, carrying, and caring for store materials.
  • Assist office and field activities when necessary.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications: 
  • Minimum secondary school certificate completion required. Basic reading and writing knowledge of both Bangla and English desirable
  • Minimum 3 (One) years’ prior work experience in similar positions required
  • USAID experience desirable
