GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (GZA) is looking for a motivated Construction Engineer to join our growing construction management practice in our Bedford, New Hampshire office.  GZA’s construction management division is focused on providing innovative approaches to project delivery. Our projects involve all phases of construction and site development with an emphasis on remediation and demolition. GZA’s construction management professionals also provide routine support to GZA’s other technical practices as needed in the areas of cost control, schedule control, quality, and safety.  

As a Construction Engineer, you will be involved in managing a variety of construction issues as well as delivering solutions that impart true value to our clients. On many sites, you will act as the site supervisor working directly with other GZA employees, a variety of specialty contractors and in many cases interfacing directly with the client.

Key Duties:

 
  • Assist with project design, specification development and procurement
  • Review, coordinate, and track submittals and shop drawings
  • Identify, research, and develop solutions to design issues
  • Perform labor, material and equipment tracking, maintain site control
  • Monitor field work to ensure adherence to standards, codes, and specs
  • Prepare and maintain construction drawings to support construction work as required
  • Obtain, review, and generate as-built documents
  • Participate in jobsite meetings
  • Prepare reports and deliverable

Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Construction Engineering
  • Preferred 1+ year of experience in similar role as an Engineer for a general contractor or consulting engineer performing site work, including site remediation, demolition, and limited vertical construction work; internship experience applies
  • Excellent communication and organizing skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office and other project management applications including Microsoft Project is necessary
  • Integrity, tenacity, demonstrated ability to succeed, and the attitude to do what it takes to meet and/or exceed client expectations
  • Having any of the following credentials is a plus:  10-hr OSHA Construction or Safety, 40 hour HAZWOPER, asbestos monitor or inspector.
