GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (GZA) is currently seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support our environmental practice in our South Bound Brook, New Jersey office. This candidate will have a solid educational background and must be self-motivated with a professional attitude.  The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science and at least four years of related environmental experience.  
 
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will maintain responsibility for the project’s day-to-day operations, scheduling, production, safety, and client relationships. You will assist with managing all aspects of an engineering project to ensure that it is safely completed on time and within scope and budget. You’ll work amongst a team of dedicated project managers and principals.
 
Key Duties: 
•    Performing environmental investigations including field tasks (as needed) such as soil, groundwater, and soil vapor sampling 
•    Performing remediation system operation and maintenance tasks
•    Performing hydrogeologic field testing and analysis
•    Preparing environmental proposals, work plans, and reports
•    Performing statistical analysis of data
•    Data analysis and interpretation
•    Overseeing remediation projects
•    Hazardous and non-hazardous waste management
•    Communicating effectively and efficiently with contractors and team members
Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science (Master’s Degree a plus)
•    4+ years of relevant experience
•    Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgement capabilities
•    Ability to perform technical execution of projects under the supervision of senior project managers
•    Demonstrated ability to follow direction and work independently or in a team setting
•    Experience in preparing field documentation, project specification recommendations, plans, schedules, and reports
•    Strong communication skills, basic loss prevention and financial skills training 
•    Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Suite and environmental software
•    40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification
•    Availability to work full time Monday thru Friday
•    A valid driver’s license in good standing, and reliable transportation
•    Availability to travel (overnight travel may be required)
