GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (GZA) is currently seeking an experienced Air Quality and Environmental Compliance Engineer/Scientist to join our Bedford, New Hampshire office.  Successful candidates will have a strong background in Air Quality and Air Pollution Control, Environmental Engineering, and Environmental Regulatory Compliance.

Key Duties:
  • Preparation of emissions inventories, chemical mass balances, permit applications, emissions and monitoring reporting, compliance reporting, and regulatory applicability evaluations
  • Evaluation of potential air quality impacts using air quality dispersion models
  • Technical analysis and environmental regulatory compliance support for:
    • Tier 2 Chemical Inventory and Toxic Release Inventory reporting
    • Risk management planning and process safety management
    • Stormwater permitting and pollution prevention
    • Spill prevention control and countermeasures planning
    • Industrial discharge permitting and pretreatment
  • Development of written technical reports and plans
  • Working and communicating with regulatory agencies, vendors, and/or contractors
  • On site observation, documentation, evaluation and data collection at client facilities
  • Minimum of a BS in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering or scientific degree
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with project team members, regulatory agency representatives, contractors, clients, etc.
  • Three or more years of relevant professional experience with state and federal air programs such as PSD/NSR, Title V, MACT, NSPS and state air permitting and air toxics compliance programs
  • Relevant knowledge and experience with the local and regional business community, and federal, state, and local agencies in New Hampshire and Massachusetts
  • Experience with industrial compliance and permitting projects, including knowledge of emissions estimation techniques
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills focused on attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Experience preparing technical reports that demonstrate technical and regulatory knowledge with an emphasis on high quality deliverables and work products.
  • Willingness and ability to develop effective working relationships among colleagues and clients to foster teamwork and successful client service
  • Flexibility with respect to working style and willingness to occasionally modify personal schedules as required to meet project deadlines and/or client needs
  • Desire and initiative to engage in professional activities, client service and personal development to build a career in environmental consulting
  • Professional Licensure or Registration strongly encouraged (i.e., EIT, PE, CHMM, etc.)
