GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (GZA) is currently seeking an Enviornmental Project Manager with 8-15 years’ experience to join our Bedford, New Hampshire office.  Successful candidates will have a strong background in, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Regulatory Compliance, and/or Environmental Health and Safety.

This position requires excellent leadership qualities, with a history of successfully managing projects and staff in a collaborative work environment, and demonstrated experience developing scope and budget proposals, schedules, qualifications packages, reports, and presentations. The candidate should be self-motivated, well organized, detail oriented, quality focused, and safety-minded. Client management and business development skills are desired along with a demonstrated ability to grow and foster existing client relationships and proactively identify project opportunities and develop new clients.

Key Duties:
  • Managing project team, delegating to office and field staff, and executing day to day activities of projects
  • Conducting internal and client communications
  • Monitoring team performance for compliance with contractual agreements and budgets
  • Providing business development support
  • Preparing proposals and reviewing/writing environmental reports with Principal guidance and review
  • Managing project contractual and financial issues (including terms of agreement, changes in scope, billing process) 
  • Managing and mentoring GZA existing staff of project-level engineers
  • Conducting/reviewing technical analyses/calculations
  • Participating in meetings and agency consultation
  • Conducting site compliance inspections and audits
  • Developing construction plans
  • Preparing construction cost/quantity estimates
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental/Civil/Chemical Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, and/or Environmental Science (Master’s Degree a plus)
  • Relevant experience with regulatory knowledge and working relationships with the local and regional business community, and federal, state, and local agencies
  • Professional Licensure or Registration strongly encouraged
  • Experience with design and management of environmental investigation, assessment, compliance, and remediation projects
  • Experience working on industrial compliance and permitting projects
  • Self-starter, able to complete tasks with minimal supervision and direction
  • Demonstrate professional judgment, consistency, strong attention to detail, and background of high quality work products
  • Desire to manage and mentor staff and review and evaluate their work while fostering staff growth and development
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills and judgment
  • Demonstrate performance of independent analysis, problem solving and strong organizational skills
  • Experience preparing reports that demonstrate technical knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, design team members, contractors, and construction managers
