GZA is currently seeking a Senior-Level EHS Professional to work in our Environmental Health and Safety / Regulatory Compliance Technical Practice Group.  The position will be based in our Norwood, MA office, however you will work with other professionals in our EHS Technical Practice Group that are located across our company.

We are looking for an experienced professional with a well-developed network and demonstrated experience as an innovator  in the field of Environmental Compliance /Environmental Health Safety.  The qualified candidate must possess a BA or BS from an accredited college or university in a science, engineering, or related technical field, and excellent written and oral presentation skills, and must have prior success with performing client management, business development, and project management as well as company and staff leadership. 

The position will include performing various technical field tasks, conducting technical analyses and calculations, conducting regulatory compliance audits and preparing various written work products including engineering reports contingency/response plans, audit reports, permit applications and environmental management-system-related documentation.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Managing project team, delegating to office and field staff, and executing day to day activities of projects
  • Conducting internal and client communications
  • Monitoring team performance for compliance with contractual agreements and budgets
  • Providing business development support
  • Preparing proposals and reviewing/writing environmental reports
  • Managing and mentoring GZA existing staff of project-level engineers
  • Participating in meetings and agency consultation
  • Conducting site compliance inspections
  • Training on a broad range of EHS-related topics

  • Some travel and overnight stays may be required at times

  • Multi-media compliance audits
  • Toxics Release Inventory Reporting
  • RCRA/Hazardous waste management
  • Hazardous chemical storage reporting
  • Stormwater permitting, monitoring, and reporting
  • SPCC/SWPPP/ICP development, permitting and monitoring
  • Industrial wastewater pretreatment
  • Air emissions permitting and control
  • Indoor Air sampling
  • Environmental Management Systems development and implementation
  • OSHA program development including: Lockout/Tagout, Emergency Action and Fire Prevention, Confined Space Entry, Hazard Communication, Bloodborne Pathogen Control, and Chemical Hygiene
  • Process safety and risk management planning
  • ISO 9001/14001/45001
  • OHSAS 18001
  • EH&S training
