• Providing expertise in all phases of Project Management, from project scope development and initial engineering, through construction, to commission and start-up, specifically including plant design, machinery and equipment layouts, estimating, resourcing, scheduling, supervision, logistics, construction, preparing as-built drawings and cost and budget control.
  • Ensuring that project objectives are met in an economical and timely manner and that applicable standards, procedures, and quality control requirements are either developed or met as required.
  • Serving as a liaison between operations, maintenance, technical groups, and outside contractors.
  • Recommends changes or upgrades to equipment, work methods, or other aspects of the process to improve efficiency and utilization of resources including labor, energy, and raw materials.
  • Capability of making free-hand and isometric drawings, and to read and interpret prepared drawings of various types, including blueprints and architectural, structural, piping, mechanical drawings.
  • Making independent decisions on work methods and procedures within the project scope, while ensuring successful completion of projects according to clearly defined and agreed-upon objectives.
  • Bachelors’ degree in Quality Management, Process Engineering, or related field.
  • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, consideration will be given to individuals with sufficient knowledge and experience to meet the requirements of and perform the duties of this position.

  • 8-10 years related experience in progressively responsible roles with experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing facility or chemical/fertilizer manufacturing environment.
  • Applicants must have a minimum of 18 months in current position, and a “solid/satisfactory” or above performance rating.
  • Previous experience in all phases of construction management, including general knowledge of all construction trades and visual inspection capabilities of all project-related activities.

  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, excellent verbal and writing communication, and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and project management skills including the ability to work against pressing deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to work independently.
  • Fundamental economic skills and attitude that drives decision-making from an economic point of view.
  • The use of a computer and phone – Must be able to see, type, write, finger, grasp, and sit; must be able to use a mobile phone.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when pulling finished goods samples.
  • Communicating with internal and external customers – must be able to talk, hear, see, and comprehend.
  • Mobility of arms – Must be able to reach and use arms to manipulate small objects.
  • Mobility inside the office to access filing cabinets, office machines, and supplies – must be able to move about the office space, stand for an extended period of time, reach, bend, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Some travel may be required to various plant sites in the United States.

  • Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Work is routinely performed in an office environment as well as regular visits to our production plants and distribution warehouses which can have exposure to the natural elements.
  • Noise levels are typically minimal in the office but can exceed normal threshold in the production plants and distribution warehouses.
  • Must wear steel-toed boots, safety glasses, earplugs, and gloves.
  • Recommended (area-specific): Respirator, Back brace, and safety suit, other. Will be provided by Harrell’s upon request.
  • Personal Protective Equipment must be worn in accordance with SDS recommendations.
