Essential Functions:
  • Effectively use AutoCAD Civil 3D to design various project features.
  • Prepare design computations and quantity estimates under the supervision of a licensed engineer.
  • Assist in preparation of reports, specifications, plan creation, and permit applications.
  • Interface with CAD designers and coordinate with other engineering departments on complex multi-discipline projects.
  • Assist project manager in the development of construction cost estimates. 
  • Collaborate with team members including engineers, technicians, surveyors, administrative staff and subcontractors.
  • Assist in client contact and communications.
  • Willingness and ability to occasionally work in an outdoor environment as Resident Project Representative (RPR) on construction projects.
  • Willingness and ability to occasionally work extended hours to meet project needs.

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Three or more years of applicable experience.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D corridor modeling and earthwork grading design.
  • Knowledge of earthwork/grading design principles and practices including an understanding of soil mechanics and associated testing operations.  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with design team and clients.
  • Superior problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Solid communication and critical thinking skills, along with attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude under pressure, strong team player, responsible and self-motivated.
  • Must be able to work extended hours as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Valid Driver’s License and in good standing with periodic travel necessary.

Likely project areas include analysis and design of stormwater management, street/roadway reconstruction, water distribution, wastewater collection, solid waste landfills, and similar civil and municipal related projects.
