Position Summary:
Various duties to install and maintain integrity of plumbing and pipe systems.
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Layout, fabricate and assemble water, sewer, solar and other piping systems
  • Design, install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair toilets, bath tubs, sinks, and water heaters
  • Interpret plans and specifications
  • Use all tools of the trade to cut, connect, and install piping and equipment
  • Understand the public health safety in regards to the preservation of food and indoor air qualities
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualification/Requirements:
  • Hawaii Driver’s License
  • Basic electrical knowledge for various control systems
  • Basic knowledge for handling fluids and gases under pressure
  • Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize to meet deadlines.
  • Must be flexible in work hours, on call as needed
  • Ability to effectively operate office equipment, to include desktop computers, calculators, printers, copy machines and telephones.
  • Verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Good attitude; must be a team player.
 
Education/Training:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Satisfactory completion of 10,000+ hours of work experience in plumbinga trade through Local 675’s Apprenticeship Program
  • 10 semesters of related and hands-on instructions (5 years)
  • Must be able to understand physics of liquids, gases, refrigerants, electricity and electrical controls
  • 5+ years of work experience in the plumbing field

*Must be a member in good standing with the Plumbers and Fitters UA Local Union 675
