Position Summary:

Provide a full range of maintenance and mechanical repair services for Boats, Machinery, and resort Vehicles. The Havasu Landing Maintenance Mechanic conducts general maintenance and repairs ensure proper upkeep of all vehicles and boats, equipment, and various utility systems. The Mechanic II always provides excellent customer service to prospective and current guests and customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible with The Lead Maintenance Mechanic for general preventive maintenance on the company’s boats and vehicles and  machinery equipment.
  • Perform general preventive maintenance checks taking necessary action to ensure daily operations of the vessels, pre-operation inspections and oil changes.
  • Knowledge and ability to repair gasoline or diesel-powered engines.
  • Remove pumps, generators, and other engine accessories, using hand tools.
  • Remove covers of gear and clutch units or remove entire assemblies as instructed in small vehicles and machinery.
  • Wash and clean disassembled parts.
  • Repairs electrical automotive equipment such as installing batteries, terminals, lights, starters, modules, and alternators, install new equipment ,electric panels, and new wiring circuits. 
  • Request to order all relevant spare parts to ensure adequate stock and responsible for the orderly storage and recording of all those parts.
  • Use test devices, engine analyzers, gauges of various types, and other equipment.
  • Performs diagnostic tests to locate malfunctioning systems.
  • Assists in the swapping out of engines, the reassembly of repaired engines and will assist with the testing of motors.
  • Available when called for emergency work should one of the Passenger Ferry Boats require repair, the minimum time paid to attend a call will be 2 hours.
  • Able to perform any and all other duties as assigned by management.
 

Qualifications:
                                   
  • Must be age 18 or older and have a current driver’s license.
  • Education and/or training in engineering, mechanical or electrical or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Must have intermediate computer skills.
  • Must have relevant mechanical and parts experience in this or a related field.
  • Marine/boat technician or service experience preferred.
  • Work also involves reaching and stretching in small, confined spaces.
  • Cannot be claustrophobic, must be able to work in confined spaces.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and grasping.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination is required
  • Must be able to carry and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Ability to withstand dust, pollens and gas fumes on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to work safely around moving mechanical parts.
  • Must have the ability to work outside in extreme heat and/or cold temperatures for a full 8 hour day.
