Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor students according to operating program guidelines.
- Work closely with the Chemehuevi Director of Education, CTEC Staff, and the Needles Unified School District.
- Provide homework help assistance after school during the Homework Help Program HHP and give directive to CTEC Staff during HHP as required by Director.
- Provide and maintain registration for CTEC Programs.
- Maintain & track attendance records, student progress, and all further education needs with students who participate in the CTEC Programs.
- Tutor students K-12 when required. May work with student’s teacher(s) to meet individual student’s educational needs.
- Provide support (materials, guidance) for parent/child school projects (such as annual science fair) department events, and field trips.
- Provide program calendars and submit monthly Newsletter Articles to the Director of Education.
- Create incentives for Student excellence (perfect attendance, raising a grade, encourage reading, etc..) and present them to the Director of Education for approval and implementation into CTEC Programs.
- Maintain CTEC programs inventory and produce purchase orders, track spending for grant reconciliation
- Written reports are mandatory per Director of Education request for grant requirements, program evaluations, education policies, and ongoing CTEC Programs.
- Assist the Director of Education with delegated duties, including administrative work, when required.
- Provide customer service by phone, mail, fax, email, and in-person.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 or older.
- Must have high school diploma/GED.
- Must have experience with or around young children and teenagers.
- Knowledgeable of behavior management skills that are applicable at all age levels.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, Chemehuevi Tribal Staff, and NUSD.
- Ability to enforce rules and set boundaries.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Strong written and communication skills.
- Strong computer skills ie. Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power-Point...
- Teaching or supervisory experience. Degree Preferred
- As assigned.
Other Requirements:

This is a full time position
