Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct supervision of all Community Center Coordinator, Activities Personnel, cooks, volunteers and other temporary hires. Prepare annual appraisals, job description updates and plan for ongoing training for employees. Prepare monthly staffing plans.
- Write and implement rules, regulations, policies and procedures as applicable to program scope.
- Write grant applications for funding to offset program costs/expansion of services.
- Develop a comprehensive schedule of Community activities for applicable specialty programs. Publish monthly schedule of events.
- Coordinate calendar and setup “room bookings” for community events and/or meetings.
- Maintain records of all events & groups using the facility on a daily basis.
- Plans for annual events such as the Easter Egg Hunt, Nuwuvi Days, Indian Days, Halloween Thanksgiving Dinner, Christmas Dinner and Toys for Tots.
- Provide daily oversight of the Community Building, Skate Park, Unity Park, Ball field and Gymnasium as needed.
- Develop ideas on methods to raise funds for annual events and encourage parents and children to participate in fundraisers. Responsible for snack bar and soda inventory and accountability of funds, provide the Executive Director a monthly report of all funds raised.
- Ensure cleanliness of the Community Building, Ball Park, Park and Gymnasium when recreation holds events there.
- Responsible for Toys for Tots and the National Relief Charities Program.
- Manage the Summer Food Program and After School Program (ensures meals meet USDA standards and provides information for reports and annual applications as needed); ensures adherence to California Department of Education USDA Food Program guidelines and all public health regulations.
- Coordinate CPR, First aid, CDL and other applicable trainings with the Executive Director for staff.
- Attends meetings with local agencies, Housing Advisory Board, Tribal Council when required. Maintain and protect confidential information.
- Ability to work varied hours inclusive of occasional nights and weekends
- High School Diploma/GED. AA Preferred.
- 3 years combined education and experience.
- Experience with Microsoft programs.
- Will be working with children (6 to 18 years old)
- Position requires assertiveness in the area of enforcing all rules and regulations, both in the area of gymnasium activities and Community Center Building activities.
- Valid Driver’s License, must be insurable. Current CDL preferred.
- Submit to pre-employment background check including fingerprint clearance test for all appropriate agencies.
- Must have (or be able to obtain) a current Food Handler’s Card before employment.
- CPR/First Aid certificate required or obtain within 90 days of employment.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and be physically active.
Other position requirements:
- Submit to pre-employment drug testing.
- Comply with Drug-Free Workplace Policy.
- Experience with the Child Food Program requirements and documentation is highly desired.
