JOB TITLE: Housing Maintenance
DEPARTMENT: Housing
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Foreman
SALARY RANGE: $20.00/hour
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience and general knowledge of landscaping, painting, drywall, plumbing, minor carpentry and working with gas powered equipment.
- Must be able to dead lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and comfortable with heights.
- Must be able to work outdoors (extreme heat conditions). Requires early hours.
- Able to climb ladders, may be required to go into crawl spaces, attics etc. /non-claustrophobic.
- Prefer experience working with pesticides and other chemicals.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and must be insurable. A DMV driving abstract required before hire.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Foreman responsible for the daily work schedule assigned in maintaining grounds and homes within designated housing areas.
- General maintenance on all homes and facilities within the scope of housing area, such as rehabs, work orders demo work and new construction.
- Assist in upkeep of equipment, tools and supplies.
- May assist with routine, move-in, and move-out inspections.
- Perform general landscaping on all units, facilities, parks, ballfield, and road side within the housing area. Duties include mowing, tree trimming, edging, planting, weeding, picking up trash etc.
- Responsible for equipment maintenance, and upkeep of landscaping inventory
- Perform weekly janitorial duties in the Housing office and laundry room
- Responsible for irrigation system maintenance and repairs, including operation and controls
- Ability to operate bobcat or tractor and other housing equipment.
- Use all safety equipment provided including a respirator.
- Professional and courteous in dealing with the public, co-workers must maintain good public relations.
- Performs other maintenance, janitorial and landscaping related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- May be required to be on-call.
