Duties & Responsibilites:
POSITION OVERVIEW: The Code Enforcement Officer 3 will work with and assist the Chief Conservation Officer with patrol and enforcement activities on the Chemehuevi Indian Reservation and adjacent lands.
- Uphold the Chemehuevi Conservation Code
- Sell permits and enforce regulations for fishing, hunting, camping, off-road, and others.
- Assist with beach clean-up activities
- Assist with animal control activities
- Patrol Reservation boundaries (land/water) for trespassers or violators of the Conservation Code
- Required to work some holidays and weekends.
- Report all time, mileage, including explanation of activities while on duty, and maintain files.
- Ability to operate the Conservation boat.
- Able to ride in a vehicle for hours at a time over diverse country roads.
- Able to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work with diverse populations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Valid Driver’s license, with DMV driving report, to be included with application.
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
- Able to remain calm in difficult situations.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Two years’ experience in conservation, wildlife, law enforcement, environmental field (preferred), or a combination of these.
- Submit to pre-employment drug screening
- Comply with Drug-Free Workplace Policy.
