1 FULL TIME POSITION:             SECURITY MANAGER

REPORTS TO:                             CASINO GENERAL MANAGER
SCOPE AND MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
Is overall Administrator of the Security environment who reports to the Management. Personally, and through the department, ensures that the daily business is in accordance with Casino procedures and the relevant laws pertaining to the jurisdiction. Directs personnel involved in establishing, promoting, and maintaining the Casino’s security and property protection programs by performing the following duties personally, or through subordinate Officers.
 
SYNOPSIS OF DUTIES: 

Establishes operational procedures for activities such as safety, fire prevention and patrolling physical property, orienting, and monitoring of personnel involved with classified information and investigation of accidents and criminal acts.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of laws pertaining to gaming and safety, as well as procedures pertaining to gaming and related activities.
  • Confers with representatives of Management to formulate policies, determine need for programs and coordinate programs with Casino activities.
  • Confers with representatives of local governments to ensure cooperation and coordination of Casino activities with law enforcement and firefighting agencies.
  • Directs activities of workers involved in industrial safety programs and maintains OSHA standards. Posting safety and emergency notices, as they are required by government regulations and keeping them up to date.
  • Responsible for the organization of disaster crews.
  • Marking all organizational property to prevent loss or theft and maintain a secure and updated list of such property in the event of a disaster, for insurance purposes.
  • Training and setting standards for Security Officers. Preparation of emergency manuals and emergency procedures to deal with all emergencies.
  • Monitor all aspects of security and safety procedures and recommend changes in those manuals to the Management.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Officers and other employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining officers; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • All other duties required by management
 
PREREQUISITES:  Must be age 21 or older. Must qualify for a key gaming license.
 
Experience:
Minimum of three years’ experience in security capacity with one-year experience in casino surveillance preferred. Must have experience in investigative and interrogation techniques.
 
Physical:
Must be physically fit. Requires standing, walking, bending. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds. Must have good vision (corrected to 20/20).

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree, and/or five (5) years in security related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintaining instructions and procedure manuals. Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence and the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, verify facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must have the ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in verbal, written, and mathematical and diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Employees with full time status are eligible for medical benefits (insurance) beginning the first of the month following the completion of 60 days of continuous employment.

Start date is contingent on my passing the pre-employment drug test, and my background check is completed by the Gaming Commission.
