Our client is searching for an experienced Senior Accountant who will be a key contributor to the publicly-traded technology company by leading the monthly close cycle to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting as well as external reporting and SEC filings.  This position is also responsible for payroll processing on a bi-weekly and as needed basis. The Senior Accountant works closely with management in this fast-paced, growing company and reports to the Controller. 

  • General ledger responsibility for our foreign subsidiary from recording of local transactions through generation of month-end financial statements translated into US dollars.
  • Oversight of corporate credit card program including Concur system maintenance and download to GL and reconciliation to AMEX statements.
  • Liaison with external auditors and tax preparers to support document requests.
  • Monthly accounting and reconciliation of bank accounts, prepaid expenses, intangible assets, accrued liabilities and other.
  • Responsible for bi-weekly and other payroll processing.
  • Coordinate equity issuances with broker and transfer agent.
  • Responsible for internal control (SOX) procedures and quarterly checklists to ensure all controls have been performed.  Provide documentation to auditors as requested.
  • Annual and quarterly filings as needed for business licenses, property tax, sales tax and other.
  • SEC reporting - prepare supporting files for key disclosures in SEC filing documents as well as input of financials and footnotes into SEC reporting software platform, Workiva.
  • Prepare internal financial reporting and other presentations for management and the Board of Directors – PowerPoint presentations – as needed.
  • Assist with stock compensation accounting including preparation of excel support files and recording of journal entries as needed.

Required Qualifications:
  • 6+ years’ experience in general accounting with relevant oversight of general ledger and financial reporting and a strong understanding of GAAP accounting. 
  • Experience with payroll processing, knowledge of wage and hour laws, and related reporting.
  • Experience with other required business filings including business licenses and property tax.
  • Hard and independent worker with ability to meet rigorous deadlines required of a public company.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Very strong skills in Microsoft suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 
  • Ability to learn new software. 
  • Experience with QuickBooks is required and experience in Concur, Paychex, bill.com, Certent and Workiva is a plus.
