Therapist Technicians work as a team to provide training and support to individuals who require assistance to live in the community. Duties include:

  • transporting consumers to and assisting them with activities
  • training and assisting consumers in completing household chores (cooking, cleaning, laundry, hygiene)
  • supervising administration of medications
  • providing input regarding client needs and progress in interdisciplinary meetings
  • monitoring consumers for safety and reporting any concerns to supervisor or RN

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent written communication  and computer keyboarding for documenting training
  • Excellent verbal communication with consumers, staff, and community providers
  • Stooping, bending, sitting, standing for prolonged periods and lifting up to 50lbs..
  • Ability to be CPR and SAMA certified
  • Valid driver's license, liability insurance, and reliable transportation required
  • Local travel 100% of the time
  • Assist with daily living skills

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 6 months work experience with individuals with developmental disabilities strongly Preferred
  • Valid Driver's License and proof of Liability Insurance Required

Hours: 8P-8A Saturday and Sunday and 2P-10P Tuesday and Thursday with an added weekend night shift differential of $2.00 per hour

Salary: $17,402 Annually/ $8.3663 hourly
