Therapist Technicians work as a team with nurses, case managers, guardians, and family members to provide training and support to individuals who require assistance to live in the community. Duties include:

  • transporting consumers to and assisting them with activities
  • training and assisting consumers in completing household chores (cooking, cleaning, laundry, hygiene)
  • supervising administration of medications
  • providing input regarding client needs and progress in interdisciplinary meetings
  • monitoring consumers for safety and reporting any concerns to supervisor or RN

Knowledge, Skills, and Essential Functions

  • Excellent written communication  and basic computer keyboarding for documenting training
  • Excellent verbal communication with consumers, staff, and community providers
  • Stooping, bending, sitting, standing for prolonged periods and lifting 50-75 pounds
  • Ability to be CPR and SAMA certified
  • Valid driver's license, liability insurance, and reliable transportation required

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED Required
  • 6 months work experience with individuals with developmental disabilities strongly preferred
  • Valid Driver's License and proof of liability insurance Required

Hours: 8AM-8PM Sat/Sun 16 Additional hours during the week

Salary: $8.3663 hourly/ $17,402 annually
