Registered nurse for the IDD Crisis Respite will provide direct clinical services to individuals served in the IDD Crisis Respite program who do not otherwise have access to nursing services because they are not enrolled in an HCS or TXHML Waiver, The ICF program, or in General Revenue Services.  The person in this position will be responsible for providing clinical nursing services and ancillary support to individuals being served in the IDD Crisis Respite, and will conduct delegation training to IDD Crisis Respite staff for each individual who accesses the respite program.

Knowledge, Skills, and Essential Functions

  • Excellent written communication  and computer skills for inputting clinical documentation
  • Excellent verbal communication with clients, staff, and community providers
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Stooping, bending, sitting, standing, and keyboarding for prolonged periods, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to be CPR and SAMA certified
  • Valid driver's license, liability insurance, and reliable transportation required

Education and Experience

  • Current and unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program
  • Experience with individuals who have challenging behaviors preferred
  • 1 year of IDD experience preferred

Hours: As Needed

Salary: $25.00 hourly
