This is a temporary, time limited grant-funded position for the Texans Recovering Together Crisis Counseling Program (CCP).

The CCP Fiscal Specialist will act as the Fiscal support professional assisting the Program Manager and the CCP team in all activities related to the Texans Recovering Together Crisis Counseling Program’s budgetary and audit needs. This will include record keeping, expenditure management and oversight of all the Program’s financial reporting requirements and ensuring federal funds are budgeted, expended and reconciled according to HHSC, TDEM, FEMA and SAMSHA requirements and award.

Essential Functions:
  • In coordination with the Deputy Chief Financial Officer of the Center, implement, oversee, and coordinate the financial management and support of the disaster Crisis Counseling Program (CCP) grant;
  • Serves as a subject matter expert;
  • Will provide the day-to-day financial support of the program;
  • Familiarize self with the reporting requirements of the grant and ensure that all reports are accurate and reporting in a timely manner;
  • Continually audits accounting and financial documents for accuracy and compliance with HHSC, TDEM, FEMA and SAMSHA requirements and award;
  • Maintains records of inventory and equipment utilized for grant purposes;

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of overall program, including federal and state guidelines, regulations, programs, policies and procedures;
  • Prefer knowledge of federal disaster, funding, grant management, contracting processes and policies and procedures;
  • Skill in using personal computer application software such as, Excel, MS Project or similar programs;
  • Ability to interpret and apply accounting theory, interpret laws and regulations, work accurately with numerical detail, analyze, consolidate accounting data;
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a team member in a fast-paced, deadline-orientated environment.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Experience in accounting and financial operations.  Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with major coursework in accounting, finance or related field.

Special Requirements:  
Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.

Ability to work hours other than Monday – Friday, 8:00 – 5:00 to accomplish program objectives and grant deliverables.
