This is a temporary, time limited grant-funded position for the Texans Recovering Together Crisis Counseling Program (CCP).

The CCP Media Liaison/Communications Coordinator will be responsible for the CCP's communications needs across all platforms.  We are seeking a highly motivated, self starting individual who requires minimal supervision, who's proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (most notably, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Outlook & Excel).  Adobe Creative Suite experience is a plus.  Experience writing media and stakeholder releases is a must, and is comfortable going out into the local communities to help educate the community, physicians, educators and other agencies about valuable services and resources through Texans Recovering Together Crisis Counseling Programs.
 
Essential Functions:
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with representatives of business, community, media, public interest, and school groups.
  • Writes, edits, and coordinates the design for internal and external CCP publications, the media, the internet, social media, marketing collateral, and other related materials.
  • Assists in coordinating of events, activities, and branding related to the promotion of CCP
  • Serves as media liaison for general and routine media inquiries and pitches in conjunction with project leadership. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of trauma informed theories, principles and practices (including the concept of community trauma as well as individual trauma);
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of case management, community outreach and social service work;
  • Skill in using personal computer application software such as, Excel, Word and Outlook;
  • Ability to multitask;
  • Ability to communicate effectively;
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a team member in a fast-paced, deadline-orientated environment.


SEducation  

Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related field.
Prefer an individual with direct work experience in public relations, media relations, communications work including writing, editing and public speaking, government relations or spokesperson responsibilities for a complex public, private or governmental organization.

Hours:
Ability to work hours other than Monday – Friday, 8:00 – 5:00

Salary:
$28,000 Annual Salary
