The Administrative Technician in this position serves as the main receptionist for the Mexia MH and IDD office and provides administrative support services to all programs house in the Mexia building.  Overall demeanor and presentation in face-to-face and telephone contract is of significant importance as frequent contact is made with individuals serves, their family members and numerous social service agency staff.  Work in this position also includes additional administrative and programmatic duties, including vouchering invoices for payment, record keeping, computer work, clinical data entry and various other tasks that relate to supporting MH and IDD Service Coordination/Case Management, direct service and supervisory staff.

Examples of Work Performed
 

  • Answering and routing all calls that come into the main switchboard; taking messages as appropriate; making resource referrals as appropriate;
  • Maintain Psychiatric Services appointment calendar​​​​​ and facilities process for Psychiatric services each week;
  • Greet front door "visitors" and assist them to the appropriate service staff;
  • Processing Purchase Request, vouchers, mileage reimbursement requests, and related purchasing requests for the units, facility office and janitorial supplies, vehicle gas purchases, and vehicles repair bills etc.
  • Coordinate and monitor vehicle usage, vehicle maintenance including gas purchases, and vehicle mileage logs;
  • General office work including but not limited to; filing, preparation of routine correspondence, mail handling, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned that relate to supporting direct and indirect service provision at the Mexia office.

Knowledge, Skills, and Essential Functions

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and telephone skills;
  • Must have computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, towards Center employees, clients, and the community;
  • Must demonstrate reliability, and dependability as related to attendance;
  • Must display excellent organizational skills and time management;
  • Stooping, bending, sitting, standing for prolonged periods and occasional lifting up to 30 pounds;
  • Works mainly in office setting but there will be driving to other offices and running errands;
  • Ability to be CPR/First Aid  and PMAB certified
  • Valid driver's license, liability insurance, and reliable transportation required

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in direct support of secretarial type position preferred

Hours: 8 AM-5 PM M-F

Salary: $19,282 annually/$9.2702 hourly
