Heart of Texas Region MHMR Center- Direct Support Professional 3114 (Groesbeck, TX)

Direct Support Professional work as a team to provide training and support to individuals who require assistance to live in the community. Duties include:

transporting consumers to and assisting them with activities
training and assisting consumers in completing household chores (cooking, cleaning, laundry, hygiene)
supervising administration of medications
providing input regarding client needs and progress in interdisciplinary meetings
monitoring consumers for safety and reporting any concerns to supervisor or RN

Knowledge, Skills, and Essential Functions

Excellent written communication and computer keyboarding for documenting training
Excellent verbal communication with consumers, staff, and community providers
Stooping, bending, sitting, standing for prolonged periods and lifting 50-75 pounds
Ability to be CPR and SAMA certified
Valid driver's license, liability insurance, and reliable transportation required

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED
6 months work experience with individuals with developmental disabilities strongly preferred
Valid Driver's License and proof of liability car insurance Required

Hours: 3pm-11pm Mon & Tues; 7am-7pm Sat & Sun with an added weekend night shift differential of $2.00 per hour

Salary: $18,870.08 Annually/$9.01 Hourly with Shift Differential any nights after midnight and weekends
