Therapist Technicians work as a team to provide training and support to individuals who require assistance to live in the community. Duties include:
- transporting consumers to and assisting them with activities
- training and assisting consumers in completing household chores (cooking, cleaning, laundry, hygiene)
- providing training in academic skills, such as basic math and reading
- providing input regarding client needs and progress in interdisciplinary meetings
- monitoring consumers as a team for safety and reporting any concerns to supervisor or RN
Knowledge, Skills, and Essential Functions
- Knowledge of Microsoft office
- Excellent written communication and computer keyboarding for documenting training
- Excellent verbal/telephone communication with consumers, staff, and community providers
- Organizational and filing skills for maintaining training records
- Stooping, bending, sitting, standing for prolonged periods and lifting 30 pounds
- Ability to be CPR and SAMA certified
- Local travel transporting consumers with their activities 90% of the time and regional travel 10%
- Valid driver's license, liability insurance, and reliable transportation required
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Six months experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities strongly preferred
Hours: M-F 7:30AM - 3:30PM
Salary: $18,740.80 Annually/$9.01 Hourly
