Heart of Texas Region MHMR Center- Direct Support Professional 1614 (Groesbeck, TX)

Direct Support Professional work as a team to provide training and support to individuals who require assistance to live in the community. Duties include:

transporting consumers to and assisting them with activities
training and assisting consumers in completing household chores (cooking, cleaning, laundry, hygiene)
supervising administration of medications
providing input regarding client needs and progress in interdisciplinary meetings
monitoring consumers for safety and reporting any concerns to supervisor or RN

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Excellent written communication and computer keyboarding for documenting training
Excellent verbal communication with consumers, staff, and community providers
Stooping, bending, sitting, standing for prolonged periods and lifting 50-75 pounds
Ability to be CPR and SAMA certified
Valid driver's license, liability insurance, and reliable transportation required

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED
6 months work experience with individuals with developmental disabilities strongly preferred
Valid Driver's License and proof of Liability Insurance Required

Hours: 8AM-8PM Saturday and Sunday

Salary: $11,244.48 Annually/$9.01 Hourly

An additional $1.50 will be added for each hour worked between the hours of 12:00 PM and 8:00 AM (Tuesday midnight through Saturday, 8:00 AM) and that an additional $2.00 will be added for each hour worked from 8:00 AM Saturday through 8:00 AM Monday.
