Working under the supervision of the System Support Supervisor, the Computer and Network Technician will provide expertise and skill in helping the Center maintain its automated information systems, local area network and wide area network. The Computer and Network Technician will install, repair, test and help support computer and network equipment. The position involves frequent contact with end users, vendors, upstream support entities as well as telecom providers.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED (including but not limited to):
Support and maintain all company computer and network related equipment. This includes the installing of software, testing, and/or troubleshooting desktops, laptops, printers (both local and network), fax machines, scanners, video, sound, mobile devices, routers, switches, hubs, and IP phones. This includes travel to within the Center’s six county service area to provide these services.
Provide end-user support via telephone, remote access, and/or face-to-face communication to company employees and company contract personnel.
Assist in the support related to the company’s local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN).
Maintain logs related to support and maintenance requests and actions.
Create entries and make modifications to one or more of the following: Active Directory, Cisco Unity Call Manager, Microsoft Exchange Server, Web filtering/virus scanning software, and/or other network server software used for employee and device management.
GENERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge, skills, and abilities – Knowledgeable with Windows operating systems (10, 2012r2 Server and up). Understanding of Microsoft Office with particular knowledge in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point. Ability to troubleshoot a wide array of desktop, printer, IP phone and Network issues. Excellent communication and relationship skills. Knowledge of the practices, principles, and techniques of computer operations, of information systems, and of computer software and hardware. Skill in the use and support of personal computers.
Physical – Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50lbs. Must be able to bend, stoop, and climb ladders daily as needed. Must be able to use a standard mouse and keyboard. Must be able to effectively view end-user monitor resolutions. Must have functional knowledge of Center’s chosen software.
Center Vehicle Driver – This position will drive a center vehicle, typically a small panel van. But may be required to drive smaller or larger vehicles up to and including full sized vans and pickup trucks. Must have a driving record that meets the requirement of the Center’s insurance carrier. Must be able to take and pass Driver Safety Course and Van Driver Course when offered.

Education and Experience
- Experience in systems support work.
- Position requires an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in computer science, communications or job related field plus one (1) year related work experience. Education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis based on applicable coursework completed. CompTIA A+ certification preferred.
Hours: M-F 8AM-5PM
Salary: $36,000 Annual
