Responsible for the supervision of the Texas Correctional Office on Offenders with Medical and Mental Impairments Regional Unit (TCOOMMI).  Provides direct supervision of all staff assigned to this unit and clinical oversight of all services provided.  Is responsible for all personnel functions of supervisees including hiring, evaluation, scheduling, discipline etc.  Provides case management services and psychosocial rehabilitative training as deemed necessary and in accordance with treatment plan.  Coordinates services with Parole and Probation (Community Supervision and Corrections Department) and works closely with other community agencies to link clients to needed services.  

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED: 
  • Responsible for unit compliance with all applicable community standards and contract requirements.
  • Assures all workload measures are met and data is accurately submitted to CARE and TCOOMMI WebApp. 
  • Is responsible for unit financial stability including approval of expenditures. 
  • Ensures that staff meet designated direct service and /or billing expectations. 
  • Provides clinical oversight of all cases and provides training to assist staff in development of their jobs. 
  • Coordinates telepsych services and provides case management and psychosocial rehabilitative training services to consumers.     

Knowledge, Skills, and Essential Functions
  • Must possess a working knowledge of mental health treatment and diagnostics. 
  • Must have the ability to work well with a variety of individuals including staff, community providers, consumers and the general public. 
  • A working knowledge of TCOOMMI Services and psychosocial rehabilitative training is recommended.
  • Must be able to communicate well with others in both an oral and written format. 
  • Must have strong organizational skills and have the ability to delegate to others and then monitor the completion of tasks.
  • Excellent written communication  and computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent verbal communication plus supervisory skills
  • Time management required to meet service goals
  • Approximately 10% regional travel and 20% local travel
  • Stooping, bending, sitting, standing, and keyboarding for prolonged periods, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to be CPR and PMAB certified
  • Valid driver's license, liability insurance, and reliable transportation required
Education and Experience
  • Must be licensed as a LCSW, LPC, LMFT, PSYD or Psychologist plus three (3) years of work experience
  • Master's degree in social work, psychology or related field with ability to maintain Qualified Mental Health Professional credentialing Required
  • One year of the required work experience must have been in an administrative, managerial or supervisory capacity.  Additional education may substitute for the required work experience on a year for year basis up to two (2) years.

Hours: M-F 8AM-5PM

Salary: $48,000 + $2500 (TCOOMMI Stipend) Annually
