Coordinates and provides services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Autism, and for consumers with dual diagnosis, in IDD Crisis and Behavior Support Services. Duties include but are not limited to responding to (potential and actual) crisis situations for families and/or schools making calls to IDD Intake, and in response to referrals from Mental Health MCOT staff, monitoring and assessing consumer behavior, preparing training plans and teaching consumers social, communication, and coping skills.  Duties also include demonstrating and teaching applied behavior analysis techniques to consumers, family members, group home, school and day habilitation staff.  Training occurs in group homes, Nursing Facilities, Day Habilitation programs, schools and family homes.  Additional requirements are maintaining consumer records and making recommendations to refer consumers to other programs to meet individual needs. This position will primarily serve consumers in McLennan and Falls counties, and may require flexible hours.


  • Facilitates and provides training in ABA techniques, including shaping, prompting, fading, chaining, errorless learning;
  • Conducts parent, school staff, group home staff, Day habilitation staff, and respite staff training in ABA techniques;
  • Ability to complete preliminary functional analysis, collect, document and graph data;
  • Monitors, documents, and maintains records of consumer activities and progress;
  • Communicates information about consumer progress to treatment team and participates in interdisciplinary team planning to assist with treatment plan formulation and implementation;
  • Complies with all safety and health requirements and regulations in accordance with all applicable standards;
  • Performs duties in a manner consistent with the Agency’s mission;
  • Performs related work as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Essential Functions

  • Excellent written communication  and computer keyboarding for inputting clinical documentation
  • Duties include but are not limited to monitoring and assessing consumer behavior, preparing training plans, and teaching consumer social, communication, and coping skills.
  • Conduct parent training in ABA techniques
  • Facilitates and provides training in ABA techniques, including shaping, prompting, fading, chaining, errorless learning;
  • Excellent verbal and telephone communication with consumers, staff, and community providers
  • Time management required to meet service goals
  • Frequent travel to provide services for clients, including regional travel about 50% of time and local travel 50% of time.
  • Stooping, bending, sitting, standing, and keyboarding for prolonged periods, lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to be CPR and PMAB certified
  • Valid driver's license, liability insurance, and reliable transportation required

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required; RBT Certification preferred
  • 1 year of experience in IDD preferred, with preference given to those who have worked with individuals who have challenging behaviors and provide ABA services
  • A bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or related field preferred
  • 1 year of case management experience preferred

Hours: M-F 8A-5PM with weekends as needed

Salary: $30,280-$33,280 annually/$ (depending upon educational level and RBT certification or both)
