YHDP Transitional Crisis Peer Specialist provides peer support services, through their own lived experience, to homeless youth, and/or young adults at risk of homelessness, in the effort to provide support and guidance. Will provide direct peer support to YHDP young adults served by the Transitional Crisis Housing program to ensure responsive housing supports are quickly accessed for youth in need throughout the six-county service area. Attends the regular YHDP YAB Meeting, and other relevant YHDP meetings, to liaise, and to advocate for young adults experiencing homelessness in the broader community.
Knowledge, Skills, and Essential Functions
- Excellent written communication and computer keyboarding for inputting clinical documentation
- Excellent verbal communication with clients, staff, and community providers
- Time management required to meet service goals
- Local travel using Center vehicle
- Stooping, bending, sitting, standing, keyboarding for prolonged periods, and lifting up to 15 lbs.
- Ability to be CPR and PMAB certified
- Valid driver's license and liability insurance required
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED Required
- Lived homelessness experience Required
Hours: Mon-Fri 8A-5P
Salary: $ 27,040Annually plus $2500 Lead Stipend=$29,540
