Performs mental health services for severe adult mentally ill clients. Work involves conducting clinical interviews and psychosocial assessments; site-crisis coverage for referrals and, provision of continuity of care to referred mental health individuals seeking services. Also provides community outreach work as needed. Works under moderate supervision of the Program Manager of Assessment Services, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment in carrying out details of the work.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
- Conducts clinical interviews and psychosocial assessments determining eligibility for Adult MH services;
- Provides crisis counseling and supports as deemed necessary;
- Coordinates referrals to community based providers;
- Provides continuity of care services with all area providers;
- Prepares progress notes and other required documentation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must have knowledge of psychiatric diagnosis based on DSM V, psychosocial assessments and crisis intervention;
- Excellent verbal communication with consumers, staff, and community providers;
- Skill in interviewing and reporting results of interviews;
- Must have the ability to exercise tact and perform good judgement in dealing with consumers and their relatives;
- Excellent written communication and computer keyboarding for entering clinical documentation;
- Skill in time management required in order to meet service goals;
- Stooping, bending, sitting, standing, and keyboarding for prolonged periods, and occasional lifting up to 15 lbs.;
- Ability to be CPR/First Aid and PMAB certified;
- Valid driver's license, liability insurance, and reliable transportation required
Education and Experience
- Master's in social work, psychology or related field human services field required
- Requires Licensure as an LPC or LCSW, or Master's Level candidate for licensure as an LPC-I or LMSW
Hours: M-F 8AM-5PM with possible variations per client need
Salary: $48,150-$64,000 annually DOQ
