Summary

The Controller will work closely with the Business Manager and CEO to plan and direct the accounting and financial operations of the company.  He/She is responsible for providing and reporting accurate and timely company and corporate financial information.  The Controller will also oversee and supervise employees responsible for financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, payroll, and budget preparation.

Core Functions
  • Coordinates the company’s financial planning, budgeting, and investment activities.
  • Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
  • Oversees the preparation of periodic financial statements, activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
  • Ensures that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or international financial reporting standards.
  • Reviews financial details from past, present, and forecasted operations; identifies development opportunities and improvements that can be made.
  • Provides management with short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
  • Advises business units on and assists with implementation of accounting and budgeting policies.
  • Confirms accuracy and oversees filing of quarterly and annual reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
  • Collaborates with external CPA to provide information needed for the annual financials, tax returns, and audits.
  • Maintains knowledge of organizational procedures, federal and state regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Initiates international wire transfers.
  • Reconciles bank statements.
  • Manages fixed asset control and depreciation, accrual to meet anticipated liabilities.
  • Manages prospect credit check process.
  • Acts a functional insurance liaison and manages company insurance policies.
  • Administers the 401(k) plan.
  • Manages cash investments.
  • Manages company Loans.
  • Manages Internal/External audits.
  • Updates and manages the company’s capital expenditures budget.
  • Manages Fleet and Company card programs.
  • Develops documentation of all accounting processes and has trained a back-up for all critical positions. 
  • Serves as a back-up for AP, Payroll and AR.  
  • Updates and analyzes product costing and PBA.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area.
  • Additional tasks as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting preferred.
  • Five years or more of related experience required.
  • CPA designation highly preferred.
  • Experience supervising a team required.
