Do you have aspirations of learning to operate heavy equipment? We are seeking construction laborers to join our team that have ambitions of becoming a heavy equipment operator. This position will be responsible for supporting the safe and efficient operation of rock crushing equipment that is used to crush rock into various sizes for construction and other uses. This position will cross-train to run heavy equipment such as wheel loaders, excavators, dozers to support the rock crushing operation. This position travels and follows our portable rock crushing plant, which is typically stationed in the Creswell, Salem or Silverton, Oregon area. This position requires someone that has a strong work ethic, is team oriented, is mechanically inclined and is eager to learn and advance within the company. 

COMPENSATION 

  • Typical annual earnings $55,000-$75,000/yr.
  • Typical hours per week: 6am-5pm Monday through Friday (55-60 hours per week). 
  • Per diem: $40 per day when staying in a company paid hotel.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum age 18.
  • Experience working in construction preferred.
  • Experience running tractors, forklifts or other support equipment preferred. 
  • Mechanically inclined with experience servicing vehicles etc.
  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record that includes no more than 3 moving violations and/or chargeable accidents in the last 3 years and no DUIIs.
  • Travel away from home (typically 5 days/week) is a required part of this position. We provide transportation from our headquarters in Springfield and hotel accommodations near the worksite.
  • We submit candidates to a background check through the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to screen felony records as appropriate in compliance with federal government restrictions.
  • We will administer a pre-employment drug test and physical. For safety reasons, we have a zero-tolerance drug policy, including marijuana use.
  • Physical stamina with the ability to lift 50 pounds and work on feet for long hours.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists in the safe and efficient operation of rock crushing equipment that is used to crush rock into various sizes for construction and other uses.
  • Inspects and observes plant for equipment malfunctions and break downs.
  • Performs daily maintenance activities required for safe, efficient operation of assigned equipment.
  • Performs repairs on rock crushing plant as needed.
  • Assists in completing necessary equipment pre-operation inspections, workplace examinations and paperwork per company policy.
  • Operates a variety of heavy equipment (i.e., loaders, excavators, dozers.).
  • Performs general housekeeping duties to continuously maintain a safe, clean work environment.
  • All other duties necessary to satisfy job requirements
