AIPSO is a management organization and service provider for various insurance industry groups responsible for administering the residual market. We are a national organization that serves local customer needs. Centralization and standardization are key to many AIPSO services because of the inherent economies of scale and other efficiencies.  However, our organization is based on customer focus and recognizes the need for flexibility in serving customer groups with diverse interests.

This position is located in Johnston, Rhode Island, but will manage employees in other states as well.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Implement and monitor underwriting, billing, and/or document management processes
  and procedures to meet policy services quality standards.
• Manage underwriting, billing, and/or document management team workflow daily.
• Update and maintain standard operating procedures for the underwriting, billing, and/or
  support services team.
• Assist management in developing, managing, and controlling the annual budget.
• Maintain effective service-oriented relationships with external customers, producers, and
  companies.
• Handle complex underwriting, billing and/or content management problems and inquiries
  from Insurance Regulators, insureds, and/or producers.
• Compile and monitor productivity and performance data for on-going evaluations.  Monitor
  transaction reports, system reports and phone reports to determine quality of performance 
  metrics.
• Perform underwriting and billing quality control audits on a regular basis to ensure
  compliance with Plan rules and performance standards.
• Supervise a team comprised of employees from multiple locations.
• Develop written procedures for staff guidelines and provide training.

Education:
Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is preferred.  CPCU or other insurance designations and/or additional appropriate experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Experience:
5 or more years’ experience in the auto insurance industry, with experience in the residual market auto industry preferred. Prior supervisory experience required. Customer service, policy processing, document/content management, and underwriting experience preferred.

Skills & Knowledge:
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office productivity tools (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel) to
  manage work.
• Effective problem-solving skills, including ability to analyze complex issues, find the root
  cause of the problem, and consider a wide range of alternatives before acting.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to
  effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or individuals.
• Ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility while maintaining attention to detail.
• Demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and interact professionally and effectively in a team
  environment.
• Provide leadership by example through feedback and input in group meetings and
  discussions.
• Knowledge of the residual market automobile industry, including knowledge of
  automobile insurance plan rules and regulations preferred.
