AIPSO is a management organization and service provider for various insurance industry groups responsible for administering the residual market. We are a national organization that serves local customer needs. Centralization and standardization are key to many AIPSO services because of the inherent economies of scale and other efficiencies.  However, our organization is based on customer focus and recognizes the need for flexibility in serving customer groups with diverse interests.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
•Prepare accounting entries for the general ledger. Includes validating and importing information.
•Receive, record, post to accounts receivable and perform banking duties related to receivable payments from insurance companies.
•Follow established procedures for collection efforts of payments due, manual calculation of late payment fees and invoices and reporting delinquent companies to appropriate management.
•Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepare balance sheet reconciliations. Reconciliations include proper support to validate the balance in the general ledger account.•
Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual audited financial statements and accompany workpapers and footnotes.
•Required to use GAAP principles to ensure reporting is in compliance. Prepares, examines and analyzes accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy and conformance to reporting standards.
•Work effectively and productively on multiple tasks with limited supervision by using established procedures and/or by the supervisor's infrequent monitoring of progress and performance.

Education:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from an accredited college or university majoring in Accounting preferred. Additional appropriate experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Experience:
3 or more years of accounting experience and knowledge of accounting principles and the ability to determine a course of action based on these principles.

Skills & Knowledge:
•Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office productivity tools (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel) to manage work.
•Effective problem-solving skills, including ability to analyze issues, find the root cause of the problem, and consider a wide range of alternatives before acting.
•Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or individuals.
•Ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility while maintaining attention to detail.
•Demonstrate excellent organizational skills
•Ability to work independently and interact professionally and effectively in a team environment.
•Demonstrate excellent customer service skills by being able to follow directions and interpret customer needs.
•Exposure to insurance industry and working knowledge of residual market mechanisms.

Salary Range:
$49,700 - $79,500/$59,400 - $95,000 Annual. Actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; internal equity and other conditions of employment.
