AIPSO is a management organization and service provider for various insurance industry groups responsible for administering the residual market. We are a national organization that serves local customer needs. Centralization and standardization are key to many AIPSO services because of the inherent economies of scale and other efficiencies.  However, our organization is based on customer focus and recognizes the need for flexibility in serving customer groups with diverse interests.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Review sources to ensure AIPSO's private passenger and commercial policy forms and rating rules in states in which the analyst is State Leader are in compliance with state and federal law.
  • Develop appropriate solutions for compliance, coverage, and rating issues (including individual risks) using research and problem-solving skills.
  • Draft proposed new and revised rating rules and policy forms for implementation of solutions (including individual risks).
  • Develop formal written proposals to Governing Committees for approval of proposed new and revising rating rules and policy forms.
  • Develop and submit formal written filings to state governments (Insurance Departments) for approval of proposed new and revised rules of operations, rating rules, application related forms and policy forms.
  • Provide final quality/reality check for all research, analysis, product development, and state filing documents for states for which the analyst is designated as State Leader.
  • Coordinate the publication of Manual Revisions announcing approval of new and revised rules of operation and rating rules. 
  • Draft, typeset, book-read and publish important notices.

Education:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university with supplementary insurance education preferred.  Additional appropriate experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Experience:
3 or more years of property casualty insurance experience.  1 or more years of experience with State Insurance Department rate, rule, or policy form filings. 

Skills & Knowledge:
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office productivity tools (eg. Outlook, Word, Excel) to manage work.  Advanced skills using MS Excel.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, including ability to analyze complex issues, find the root cause of the problem, and consider a wide range of alternatives before acting.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or individuals.
  • Ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and interact professionally and effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of residual market automobile insurance plans rules and regulations preferred.
  • Insurance designations such as CPCU, CIC, ARM, AINS or equivalents preferred; demonstrate commitment to ongoing insurance education.

Salary Range: $66,600 - $106,400/$79,600 - $127,200 Annual.  Actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; internal equity and other conditions of employment.
