AIPSO is a management organization and service provider for various insurance industry groups responsible for administering the residual market. We are a national organization that serves local customer needs. Centralization and standardization are key to many AIPSO services because of the inherent economies of scale and other efficiencies.  However, our organization is based on customer focus and recognizes the need for flexibility in serving customer groups with diverse interests.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

•Compile financial data from various sources to prepare accounting entries for the general ledger.
•Prepare financial information detailing assets and liabilities and prepares routine balance sheet account reconciliations. Reconciliations include proper support to validate the balance in the general ledger account.
•Prepare quarterly balance sheet, and profit and loss statements for the routine residual market mechanisms under the close supervision of a lead accountant or supervisor.
•Monitor bank account balances to ensure balances are supportive for Plan needs. Includes using web-based banking software.
•Work effectively and productively on multiple tasks, by using established procedures and/or by the supervisor or lead accountant monitoring of progress and performance.

Education:
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university majoring in Accounting or Finance preferred.

Experience:
This is an entry-level position. 0-1 year of related or transferable business experience or knowledge, such as that may have been gained through an internship or college coursework.

Skills & Knowledge:
• Ability to balance and manage project timelines and deadlines.
•Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office productivity tools (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
•Effective problem-solving skills, including ability to analyze issues, find the root cause of the problem, and consider a wide range of alternatives.
•Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or individuals.
•Ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility while maintaining attention to detail.
•Demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
•Ability to work independently and interact professionally and effectively in a team environment.
•Demonstrate excellent customer service skills by being able to follow directions and interpret customer needs.

Salary Range:
$20/hour. Actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; internal equity and other conditions of employment.
