AIO Data Analyst Intern Summer 2025 (Johnston, RI)

 AIPSO is a management organization and service provider for various insurance industry groups responsible for administering the residual market. We are a national organization that serves local customer needs. Centralization and standardization are key to many AIPSO services because of the inherent economies of scale and other efficiencies.  However, our organization is based on customer focus and recognizes the need for flexibility in serving customer groups with diverse interests.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
•  Assist in the creation of dashboards using Power BI.
•  Draft “how to” documentation for non-technical end users of Power BI dashboards.
•  Implement data standards and deploy automation tools to extract, synthesize, and validate data from
   different sources and transform data into usable metrics.
•  Utilize querying tools and data modeling to produce reports, data files, and dashboards.
•  Assist with the creation of reports, visualizations, dashboards, and metrics that provide business insight and
   aid business decision-making.
•  Engage in other department projects as needed.

Education:
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university majoring in Applied Analytics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Data Science, or related field preferred.

Experience:
This is an entry-level position. 0-1 year of related or transferable business experience or knowledge, such as that may have been gained through an internship or college coursework. Experience with SQL, Excel, and Power BI preferred.

•  Ability to balance and manage project timelines and deadlines.
•  Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office productivity tools (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
•  Effective problem-solving skills, including ability to analyze issues, find the root cause of the problem, and
   consider a wide range of alternatives.
•  Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively present
   information and respond to questions from groups or individuals.
•  Ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility while maintaining attention to detail.
•  Demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
•  Ability to work independently and interact professionally and effectively in a team environment.
•  Demonstrate excellent customer service skills by being able to follow directions and interpret customer
   needs.

Salary Range:
$20/hour. Actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; internal equity and other conditions of employment.
