AIPSO is a management organization and service provider for various insurance industry groups responsible for administering the residual market. We are a national organization that serves local customer needs. Centralization and standardization are key to many AIPSO services because of the inherent economies of scale and other efficiencies. However, our organization is based on customer focus and recognizes the need for flexibility in serving customer groups with diverse interests.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing and directing all phases of complex, cross-functional projects to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed timeframes.
- Responsible for identifying, interviewing, and developing the resources necessary to build effective and efficient teams to work on AIPSO's most strategic project initiatives.
- Develop and review project plans and status to ascertain schedule, cost, equipment, and staffing requirements.
- Lead internal teams along with business sponsors in the design, development, and implementation of business initiatives, evaluate the resulting outcomes of these initiatives and make recommendations for new strategy accordingly.
- Serve as a business-focused liaison between business customer groups and Information Systems to set priorities among competing tasks and initiatives.
- Consult with internal and external customers to define business needs and develop high-level program and project objectives.
- Evaluate the business value of potential solutions and make recommendations to Field Operations and Senior Management Team on how to proceed.
- Work collaboratively with other AIPSO leaders to solve problems and effect positive change.
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university in an Information Systems-focused major is preferred. Additional appropriate experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience
8 or more years of experience working on and/or leading project teams. Experience with software development methodology and project management and a comprehensive knowledge of business requirements gathering and analysis is required.
Skills/Knowledge
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office productivity tools and project management software (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, Microsoft Project) to manage work.
- Effective problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills, including ability to analyze complex issues, find root causes, and consider a wide range of alternatives before acting.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or individuals.
- Ability to work independently and interact professionally and effectively in a team environment.
- Provide leadership by example through feedback and input in group meetings and discussions especially in cross-functional situations.
- Project management skills required such as resource development and management, schedule development/management and communications management.
- Demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
$107,000 - $170,800 Annual. Actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; internal equity and other conditions of employment.
