Position Summary:
Plans, designs, implements and evaluates comprehensive training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of employees. Facilitates and organizes training sessions, and works closely with different departments to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and regulatory standards.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in management, education or related field with a minimum of three years of professional experience including some work in planning/administering training programs.
Skills/Abilities:
Must possess analytical ability, excellent written and verbal communication skills, good computer skills and ability to work with people.
Certifications/Licenses:
None.
Physical Demands:
The ability to use a computer keyboard effectively.
The ability to safely operate a standard equipped JEA motor vehicle. The ability to orally communicate by telephone and person to person. The ability to see and read printed material.
Work Environment:
Indoor office conditions with some outdoor work.

Essential Duties:
- Develops training competencies in collaboration with supervisors.
- Updates Operator Qualification Plan and Procedures manual as needed.
- Coordinates the implementation and evaluation of the company’s Operator Qualification Program.
- Identifies training needs and resources in consultation with supervisors, managers and officers.
- Conducts training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and areas of improvement.
- Develops and oversees in-house job shadowing and career mapping program.
- Serves as a learning coach to new employees to further develop competencies and career paths.
- Develops and coordinates various leadership training programs for new supervisors and managers.
- Assesses the impact of training programs through feedback, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Works closely with HR, managers and department heads to ensure training programs align with business objectives and operational needs.
- Stays abreast of the latest developments in the utility industry to incorporate relevant information and best practices into training programs.
- Works with industry professionals in creating tailored training programs that address specific needs, including technical skills and regulatory compliance.
- Plans, monitors and reviews the annual performance management process
- Provides training to supervisors and managers to enhance their skills in effectively utilizing our performance management system.
- Evaluates and recommends the use of an appropriate Learning Management System.
- Works with various managers to create new job descriptions
- Assists with recruitment efforts including attending job fairs and establishing relationships with local colleges and trade schools.
- Interfaces with educational institutions and other training sources in the development of training courses and certifications.
- Provides counseling to employees on training needed for current and future positions with the company.
- Assists employees in the development of educational plans for career development.
- Coordinates and/or schedules employee training sessions.
- Maintains records of employee training and certifications.
- Notifies employees of re-certification dates for compliance training.
- Assists with scheduling various training programs at JEA’s training center
- Administers employee education reimbursement fund.
- Maintains library of training materials and equipment.
- Gives training presentations to employees as needed.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of training courses/sessions.
- Performs other duties as requested.
