With over $1.6 billion in assets, Northeast Credit Union, located in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, has created a new position to lead the Accounting and Finance Team strategically! 

The Vice President, Controller, will prepare monthly and annual financial reports, ensuring complete, accurate, and timely completion of financial and accounting records for the Credit Union’s Senior Management, Asset & Liability Management (ALM) Committee, and the Board of Directors.  This individual will provide ongoing support to the Chief Executive Officer and SVP, Chief Financial Officer, to include partnering with outside CPA firms to prepare the audited financials.  

In this role, the Vice President is responsible for the entire accounting function to include budgeting, profitability, internal controls and financial accounting and regulatory reporting.  The incoming leader will have direct oversight of the general ledger reconciliation, accounting systems, monthly close procedures, and allowance for loan loss analysis to comply with GAAP.   Assistance with the ongoing implementation of the new Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL) standard is essential.   

A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and CPA designation is required. Eight to ten years of similar or related experience within a financial services organization coupled with exceptional critical thinking skills and outstanding communication skills are needed.
