Reporting to the Sr. Quality engineer, the Warranty/Quality Engineer coordinates the collection, evaluation, and dissemination of external data to improve quality and warranty process to ensure achievement of the company’s business objectives that are tied to customer satisfaction. This role will have a heavy focus on warranty data from several different warranty process and will work to streamline warranty processing and drive continues customer satisfaction by improving quality throughout the organization.

  • Understand Supplier agreements for several customers and the warranty process related to these supplier agreement to ensure SRC is adhering to warranty processes outlined in the supplier agreement.
  • Utilizes warranty data to drive customer satisfaction metrics into the company’s business objectives.
  • Work with Warranty administration, account managers, Research and development and customer contacts to implement mistaking proofing and drive improved customer satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership by directing and supporting investigation and root cause analysis for quality problems.
  • Approve or provide guidance to identify corrective actions that eliminate defect reoccurrence.
  • Coordinate and participate in customer audits, including completing customer checklists as requested, documenting the results, issuing corrective action as required based on audit results, and following up with the customer as needed.
  • Report product quality and customer satisfaction to site personnel.
  • Participate in the planning, development, coordination, and presentation of specific training and educational programs as appropriate to the quality management needs of the facility.
  • Collaborate with other SRC facilities regarding current quality management issues and activities.
  • Participate in and support the principles of Open Book Management and recognize the responsibilities of being an owner of the company.
  • Overnight travel of varying lengths may be required, at times with little notice. Need to be able to travel internationally.
  • Participate in IATF16949 and customer audits.
  • Promote a team environment toward problem solving in order to achieve the organization’s goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Work is performed mostly in a controlled atmosphere. Some exposure to harsh conditions for short periods of time is possible. This employee will be required to demonstrate continued knowledge of Haz/Com regulations and requirements. All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all person protective equipment in designated areas. This person must have strong multi-tasking skills and be able to frequently accept and perform under elevated pressure or stress. Overnight travel of varying lengths may be required, at times with little notice.

Sitting 60%, Standing/walking 40%. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds is required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, talk and hear; and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms, climb or balance.

  •  Associates degree in Automotive/Diesel Technology, Operations or Engineering, or combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 5 years Mechanical industry experiences with progressive leadership roles
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and Automotive OE Requirements (AIAG-FMEA, PPAP, APQP, etc.) or similar quality system requirements
  • Ability to assess current operations on an ongoing basis and implement required changes
  • Skilled in engaging and facilitating teams of stakeholders in order to capture and manage stakeholder’s expectations
  • Knowledge of research methodologies, cost/benefit analysis, and statistical process control methods
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in order to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Work with multiple stakeholders in determining root cause(s) of problems
  • Skilled in effectively presenting information and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work and succeed with minimal supervision
  • Excellent computer skills, especially in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook and Minitab or equivalent
  •  Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and equivalent methodologies
