POSITION SUMMARY:
 
Reporting to the General Manager, this individual is a motivated, self-starter responsible for generating and growing sales through OEM surplus accounts to achieve sales and profitability goals.

 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintains sales volume, product mix and pricing by keeping current with market supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators and competitors in the diesel industry
  • Establishes sales objectives and strategies by forecasting and developing monthly and annual sales goals and implementing growth initiatives
  • Understands and effectively communicates the benefits of products and services and understanding customer needs and markets
  • Coordinates and interacts with OEM Management and distributor network to accomplish sales and service objectives
  • Develops and negotiates terms, conditions, pricing and other related business contracts and agreements
  • Obtains orders and establishes new accounts by planning, organizing and conducting customer and vendor visits
  • Provides strong leadership and communicates a strategic vision for the organization.
  • Keeps management informed by reviewing daily activity, results and plans
  • Enhances department by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring additional sales opportunities
  • Participates in and supports the principles of Open Book Management and recognize the responsibilities of being an owner of the company
     
     
    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge and experience in diesel engine and component sales
  • Self-confidence and motivation for sales and meeting sales goals
  • Prospecting, Negotiating and closing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with internal and external clients
  • High ethical standards
  • Must be willing to travel to customers and/or vendors as required
  • Must have strong commitment to safety and follow all safety standards including wearing all personal protective equipment in designated areas.
  • High level of energy and display positive behaviors that support the company’s goals and objectives
  • Effective time management skills to handle multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines
     
    PREFERRED SKILL/ KNOWLEDGE/ ABILITY/ EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Remanufacturing industry-specific knowledge
  • 5+ years’ experience in equipment/ manufacturing sales
  • Computer skills including Microsoft word and excel and the ability to learn internet based inventory system used to fulfil job requirements
     
     
     
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed mostly in a controlled atmosphere.  Some exposure to harsh conditions—such as:  dust, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures is possible.  All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job.  While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  Standing/sitting 50%, walking 50%.
