POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs engine disassembly duties and other teardown/ sorting projects as assigned.  While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hoists, power tools and fork trucks.  This position is also responsible for communication with other warehouse personnel, and verify that material being torn down in organized.

 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines including wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safely operating forklifts preventing incidents or injury to self or others
  • Create usable finished product which meets specifications within the standard time allowed
  • Select proper tooling to disassemble engines and engine components
  • Set up and operate special equipment such as torque tools (automated and manual)
  • Report defective materials, equipment or questionable conditions to help identify and correct safety hazards
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area for safe operation
  • Promote a positive working environment in order to achieve the organization’s goals
  • Participate in and support the principles of Open Book Management
  • Work attendance must be exemplary
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed mostly in an uncontrolled atmosphere.  Some exposure to harsh conditions—such as:  dust, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures—for long periods of time is possible.  This employee will be required to demonstrate continued knowledge of Haz/Com regulations and requirements.  All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas.
 
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk and hear.  Physical effort requirements consist of regular lifting, pushing and pulling material weighing up to 50 pounds regularly. When there is an occasion to move heavy material greater than 50 pounds, the operator will request assistance from another operator, or utilize provided lifting equipment. Walking 10%; Standing 90%.
 
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
 
  • High School diploma or GED is required
  • Ability to use hand/air tools to disassemble material/engines when required
  • Must have positive attitude, time management and organizational skills
  • Must be extremely reliable and maintain a high level of energy
 
PREFERRED SKILL/ KNOWLEDGE/ ABILITY/ EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
  • Fork Lift Certification
  • Engine theory and practical application
