Supply Chain Management Internship is an opportunity for undergraduate students to work in a distribution center which serves 26 retail locations. Interns will work mainly in the role of Inventory Processor.  This gives them the experience of receiving shipments, reading purchase orders, and flow of product from tagging to distribution. Processors also monitor back stock levels, pull items for the store and stage for shipment or distribution to the locations.  Interns will use the point of sale system to process purchase orders and transfers.  In an effort to give a well rounded experience, interns will have the opportunity to shadow a buyer on a buy and inventory analysis.  

Internships may begin as early as February and can run as late as Mid August each year.

INVENTORY PROCESSOR JOB DESCRIPTION

– process incoming goods by sorting, tagging and distributing to retail stores.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  Include the following and other duties may be assigned:

-Ability to read and interpret purchase orders.

-Ability to perform simple computer functions to run necessary tickets.

 -Ability to lift and carry loads frequently.

-Ability to work without constant supervision.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS None if processor.  Drivers require drivers license and possibly fork lift certification.
