Senior Information Technology Specialist
 
The Senior Information Technology (IT) Specialist
is responsible for overseeing and managing information technology needs. This role involves ensuring the smooth operation of IT infrastructure, managing IT projects, providing technical support, and supporting the technological needs of employees.

How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, software and hardware.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of all IT systems and data.
  • Implement and manage cloud-based solutions to enhance scalability and flexibility.
  • Implement and manage a business continuity and disaster recovery plan.
  • Lead IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with various departments to understand their technology needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Provide technical support to employees, troubleshooting and resolving IT issues promptly.
  • Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to ensure efficient and secure operations.
  • Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers.
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure the company receives the best value for its IT investments.
  • Monitor vendor performance and address any issues that arise.
  • Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity measures to protect the company's data and systems.
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Stay up to date with the latest cybersecurity threats and best practices.
  • Develop and implement an IT strategy that aligns with the company's business goals.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on the company.
  • Provide recommendations for technology investments and improvements.

Education and Experience: 
  • Bachelor’s degree or a 3-year diploma in Information Technology or Computer Science.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT operations and infrastructure deployment.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and best practices.
  • Excellent project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering IT projects.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure cloud, enterprise applications, and client services.
  • Advanced understanding of operating systems, business applications, printing systems, and network systems.
  • Strong software and hardware skills, technical knowledge of major operating systems, and experience with IT infrastructure fundamentals.
