BIM Manager
 
The BIM Manager oversees the Building Information Modeling (BIM) process throughout the lifecycle of the project to optimize the planning, design, construction, and management phases of building projects, ensuring that project stakeholders have access to accurate and timely data.


How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
  • Identify project goals and define BIM uses for the project.
  • Ensure compliance with BIM project requirements, standards, and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain BIM standards, processes, and workflows to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Creation and maintenance of the software template files to assure standards.
  • Oversee the development and management of 3D models and BIM data ensuring that BIM deliverables are meeting company standards.
  • Utilize BIM data to support Design Coordination and cost estimates.
  • Apply BIM data to support and provide feedback for the project scheduling processes through the use of 4D modeling and Construction Sequence Animation.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely delivery of BIM data.
  • Resolve BIM-related issues and conflicts and troubleshoot problems related to the use of digital files.
  • Train and educate project team members on BIM technology and workflows.
  • Evaluate new BIM related software and technologies and prepare budgets for future technology adoptions that align with corporate goals.
  • Stay informed on industry best practices.
  • Lead, coach, develop and motivate direct reports. Ensure that performance evaluations are completed in a timely manner.
  • Manage team morale ensuring that the project team is working cohesively and address issues in a timely manner.

Education and Experience: 
  • Post Secondary Education in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in design or construction role with Heavy Civil projects including Infrastructure and Rail.
  • Professional certifications such as Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit for Architectural Design or certificate in Construction Management with a focus on BIM are required.
  • Strong technical understanding of construction methods and constructability.
  • Proficiency in BIM software programs such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Prior experience with coaching and developing staff.
